Over the past term, a group of Year 10 students at Sir John Lawes School have been taking part in the Scholars Programme, coordinated by The Brilliant Club. The Scholars Programme provides an inspiring experience of university-style learning beyond the curriculum, through seven tutorials taught by a PhD tutor.

Our SJL students were delighted to be paired with Kelly Hatley, a writer and researcher in the field of horror-comedy, and have spent their tutorials exploring the topic using ‘Horrorstor’, a novel by Grady Hendrix, as their inspiration. Throughout the programme the students have developed individual research assignments, and we’re very proud of all the hard work they’ve put in to complete the project.
