Amazing Apprenticeships

Posted on 17/03/2022

Hardly a day goes by when there is something in the news about Apprenticeships, but many of us dismiss these opportunities as not being relevant as University is perceived to be the only way forward for our young people. However, Higher Apprenticeships, especially Degree Apprenticeships offer our students the opportunity of employment whilst gaining a degree and professional status, all without incurring student fees or taking a loan; a true alternative to the traditional University route. These Apprenticeship Schemes are operated across a wide range of business sectors from Banks & Finance through to Digital Industries, Chartered Surveying and Aerospace and Nuclear Power. Already a number of our students have completed these schemes through Barclays Bank and KPMG and graduated with their degree, having had the benefit of real world work experience to supplement their studies. More of our students are currently following this pathway.

The Apprenticeship Evening began with an initial presentation by Anna Morrison CBE, an eminent expert in the field of Apprenticeships who works with both the employers and training providers and is currently leading a national campaign to inform parents of apprenticeships. This was followed by talks from James L and Charlotte S-B regarding their apprenticeship journeys with Monarch Airlines and KPMG.

The rest of the evening was an opportunity for students and parents to meet employers and their apprentices to ask questions and learn more about what they offer. Thanks to the following organisations:

  • AON
  • AECOM
  • Computacenter
  • FCDO
  • Foxley Kingham Accountants
  • Hertfordshire County Council
  • Hill
  • MBDA
