Living locally

Harpenden is mainly a residential town on the borders between Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, it is situated between St Albans and Luton, and is considered to be within the London commuter belt. There is some local employment in the town but the workforce mainly commutes to London, Luton, St Albans and Hatfield.

Transport links are good with easy access to the M1 and M25 and a train service within the town to London/ Bedford.

Harpenden has a vibrant high street with both independent and national retailers represented. There is a sports centre, two tennis clubs, four golf courses, indoor swimming pool and many parks and open spaces to enjoy.

Accommodation can be expensive in the town but the nearby towns of Luton, Dunstable and Flitwick offer a wider choice of housing at a wider choice of cost. An accommodation list showing local estate agent and letting agent details is available on request.
